Tell Us about Tellus360

Lame title for a not so lame venue.

Tellus 360 is more than simply an Irish pub with a few stages. Nestled in downtown Lancaster, the venue boasts multiple stages with a plethora of live bands, gigs, dance nights, and a lends itself to being that quiet, old-man Irish pub that old crotchety spirits like myself yearn for during the week...

If you check out their website - which I've so conveniently provided above with a hyperlink - you can virtually explore as well as check out any upcoming acts or events. The Speakeasy in the basement provides a cozy atmosphere conducive for acoustic performances and intimate serenades when no one else is around...yes, personal experience on both accords.

As this sheltered beer enthusiast is learning, sky bars are becoming increasingly popular among large cities and emerging artsy hubs such as Lancaster. Curious to hear if any of my readers have any favorites they recommend as I'm always jonesing for an adventure to quench the insatiable wanderlust bug and beer testing fever. The sky bar here provides such a lovely view of the city and a great ambiance for a night out with your lovely self, dear friend(s), and/or significant other.

On this particular occasion, I found myself back to the old stomping grounds under new circumstances, i.e. new brews, different lovely lady friend, and new tunes to which to dance my uncoordinated butt. If you've heard of the Bernie, we've become even closer as this is my go-to dance move. I wish I was kidding.

I digress as the night goes on.

This night was dedicated to Rusty Rail Brewing's Side Track #33. See how majesty the emblem is?

Of the rotating beers, this one struck my eye as it was one I had not dived into before and because of how easily side tracked I become when there are too many choices on a beer listing. While this is not inherently a large issue, it does create causation for me to whip out my handy dandy Untappd app to determine my selection of the night.

This golden delicious is a Golden Ale, consumed on draft. I don't meant to come off as a snob or uppity those who prefer a solid Pabst or Coors Light out of the fridge, but there is a slight difference in taste with tap vs can vs bottle. The method in which a beer is stored and housed, as well as temperature served, can make a great impact on the quality and taste. I prefer tap for most beers, albeit some have such insignificant taste differences that it's hardly even worth making a fuss.

Reeling it back to the venue and drafts: Tellus 360 does a swell job at their rotation of brewskis. Whether I'm in the vacinity twice in one week, make it a weekly occurrence, or have a multiple-months' long hiatus, there always seems to be something new on draft which I have not yet tried. That, my dearies, is how one stays relevant in this age of beer tasters.

So what of this Side Track #33? I've already proven myself to be rather easily sidetracked - ha.ha.ha. This brew was, regrettable, not as noteworthy as the venue itself, although it did the job of quenching my immediate beer thirst for the night so job well done on that front. The focus of this night was catching up with friends and trying a new beer I had not before. Mission accomplished without further notation on the particular beer needed - not that I'd have much other than it was simply ok.
