Tattered Flag, a girls' night affair

Tuesday nights are for the girls.

For the past few months, this night has been the reserved week night as it was the night that typically worked best for most, if not all, of our schedules at any given moment. With waves of nausea and general stress from the overbearing workload at work, I was contemplating skipping out on this one. However, sometimes being with your girls is exactly what is needed to pick you up out of the slump.

Tonight was also emotionally overwhelming as my boyfriend and I split - a great jolt of a shock which only added to the tumultuous waves of anxiety and uncertainty.

With these two factors in play, I ditched the mountain of paperwork that in all reality was not going to be accomplished anyways. In lieu of sad, lonely night, a singular pint and a long talk with my gal pals ensued.

On the docket tonight was a hoppy Line & Anchor, an IPA on draft by Tattered Flag. Tattered Flag tends to aim for the hops lovers, not that I'm complaining. I believe I've only mentioned once, or twice, or thrice, that I enjoy those nice wheaty hints in my beer, particularly those in an IPA. It truly takes a lot to mess up an IPA, and even more skill to make it above average, albeit even an average IPA is a solid choice in beer.

Along my scenic route home, I picked up a mix-a-six from Giant - a different location than I usually visit. If you've been reading along, you know of my feelings on Giant's mix-a-six. If not, you may have personally experienced the need to rotate locations and frequency if you've tired as many as I have... that's certainly not a knock on Giant's beer garden, rather, my own journey of beer tasting typically exceeds what they offer. Sorry, Mum.

The next few days we shall see what I picked up. This 6-pack came from the Middletown location so I'm quite curious on what I've chosen. Currently I'm blaming old age and emotions on why I cannot even remember at this moment. The fridge is too many steps away to go check before bed.
